Chateau Magdeleine Bouhou Malbec Sans Soufre 2020

The 2020 vintage Malbec is sulphur-free and a fresh addition to Chateau Magdeleine Bouhou's natural wine range. Made without added sulphites, this wine showcases a deep purplish hue and a vibrant nose of red fruits, wild blackberries, morello cherry, and hints of thyme. On the palate, it delivers a smooth, clean attack with a silky texture and tender structure, leading to a long, aromatic finish. Grown on 1 hectare of clay-limestone soil, the 30-year-old vines are densely planted (5,000 vines/ha) and machine-harvested with sorting technology. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled concrete vats, with fermentation at 24–25°C and cold pre-fermentation maceration for enhanced flavour. Aged briefly in vats, the wine is bottled in spring to preserve its freshness. This sulphur-free wine pairs beautifully with charcuterie, grilled meats, barbecues, and soft young cheeses.
