Château Langoa Barton is a historic Third Growth estate in the Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux, owned by the Barton family since 1821. The estate remains one of the most traditional in the Médoc, with a strong focus on consistency and classical winemaking. Vineyards lie on deep gravel soils over clay, ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon, which dominates the blend alongside Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The 2009 vintage benefited from warm, dry conditions, producing ripe, structured wines with excellent concentration and ageing potential.
Château Langoa Barton 2009 is typically a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a small proportion of Cabernet Franc. Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented in temperature-controlled vats with around three weeks of maceration, then aged for 16–18 months in French oak barrels, around 60% new. The wine shows classic notes of blackcurrant, plum, cedar, tobacco and graphite, with firm tannins and freshness. Critics have scored it around 90–93 points, including 91 from Robert Parker and 93 from Wine Spectator, with a drinking window approximately 2019 to 2034.
