Chateau Fayat Pomerol 2019

Château Fayat is a contemporary Pomerol estate created in 2016 by the Fayat family through the consolidation of three historic vineyard holdings on the Pomerol plateau. Located on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, the vineyards are planted on prized clay and gravel soils with iron rich crasse de fer subsoils, ideal for Merlot. The estate follows sustainable viticulture with careful canopy management, soil preservation and hand harvesting to express the purity and balance of this renowned appellation.

Château Fayat Pomerol 2019 is a blend of approximately 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, reflecting the richness of an outstanding Right Bank vintage. The 2019 growing season brought warm, dry conditions with cool nights, producing wines of concentration, freshness and excellent ageing potential. After fermentation in temperature controlled vats, the wine was matured for around 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels. It shows layers of ripe plum, black cherry, violet and subtle spice, supported by silky tannins and freshness. It pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef fillet, game and earthy mushroom dishes.
