Chateau des Moriers Moulin A Vent Vieilles Vignes 2016

Château des Moriers Moulin à Vent Vieilles Vignes 2016 comes from a family run estate in the Beaujolais region of France. The Vieilles Vignes bottling is made from very old Gamay vines planted on clay and pink granite soils in the Moulin à Vent AOC, one of Beaujolais’s ten crus.

This wine is 100% Gamay, vinified using traditional Beaujolais techniques including semi carbonic maceration and indigenous yeast fermentation. Ageing typically occurs for around ten months in 400 litre French oak barrels, imparting subtle spice and texture without overwhelming the fruit. Moulin à Vent Vieilles Vignes wines are known for red berry, cherry and floral aromas, elegant structure and fresh acidity, which develop with bottle age. Serve with roast poultry, game, mushroom dishes or charcuterie for a classic pairing.
