Description

Produced by Castello di Romitorio in the hills of Montalcino, Brio Toscana IGT is a vibrant and elegant expression of Sangiovese from one of Tuscany’s most distinctive estates. Founded by artist Sandro Chia, who acquired the historic Castello di Romitorio in 1984, the estate combines centuries of Tuscan heritage with a modern vision focused on art, architecture and exceptional winemaking. Located northwest of Montalcino, the vineyards benefit from elevated positions, cool air currents and a unique landscape of forests, Mediterranean vegetation and mineral-rich soils. The estate’s vineyards are cultivated with great respect for the environment, with careful attention to biodiversity, sustainable farming practices and preserving the natural balance of each vineyard site.

Made from 100% Sangiovese, Brio Toscana IGT 2024 showcases a fresher and more approachable side of the grape variety that defines the great wines of Tuscany. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the purity, vibrancy and freshness of the fruit, creating an expressive style that highlights the elegance of Sangiovese while remaining immediately enjoyable. Aromas of ripe cherry, redcurrant and wild strawberry are complemented by notes of violets, Mediterranean herbs, subtle spice and a delicate mineral freshness. The palate is bright and refined, with lively acidity, smooth tannins and a savoury finish that reflects the freshness of the estate’s vineyards. A versatile Tuscan red with great charm and drinkability, Brio pairs beautifully with pasta dishes, grilled meats, cured meats and traditional Italian cuisine.
