Bruna Grimaldi Barolo Camilla 2021

Bruna Grimaldi is a family-run winery situated in Grinzane Cavour, within the Barolo DOCG region of Piedmont, Italy. Established in the 1990s, the estate focuses on producing high-quality Barolo wines from its prestigious vineyards, including the Camilla cru. The vineyards are located in the Barolo subzone at elevations between 250 and 450 metres above sea level, with south-facing exposures on soils rich in clay, limestone, and sandstone. The estate practices sustainable viticulture, though it is not officially certified organic or biodynamic. The wines are vegan-friendly, crafted without the use of animal-derived fining agents.

The 2020 Barolo Camilla is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes sourced from the Camilla vineyard in Grinzane Cavour. The grapes undergo fermentation with indigenous yeasts and are aged for 24 to 30 months in a combination of large Slavonian oak barrels and French tonneaux. The wine offers aromas of red berries, rose petals and subtle spices. On the palate, it is elegant with fine tannins and a balanced structure, characteristic of a traditional Barolo. This wine pairs well with rich dishes such as braised meats, truffle risotto or aged cheeses.
