Bressia Piel Negra Pinot Noir

Bodega Bressia is a family owned boutique winery founded by Walter Bressia in Mendoza, Argentina, known for its artisanal, quality driven approach. The 2021 Piel Negra comes from high altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley, including Gualtallary parcels planted above 1000 metres, where cool nights preserve natural acidity and aromatic intensity. Soils here are well drained, largely alluvial with stony and gravelly components that encourage low vigour and concentrated fruit. The estate practices careful vineyard management with regulated irrigation to control vine stress and promote balanced ripening.

Piel Negra 2021 is made from 100 % Pinot Noir, reflecting varietal character with depth and elegance. The wine was aged for around eight to ten months in French oak (a mix of new and seasoned oak vessels depending on the batch), which adds subtle complexity without overpowering fruit clarity. Expect an intense, deep ruby-red colour with aromatics of red cherries, blackberries and floral notes of rose petals and violets, allied with gentle spice and oak nuances. On the palate it is structured yet elegant, with silky texture and lively acidity. Ideal food pairings include roasted duck, lamb with rich sauces, grilled salmon or dishes with aromatic herbs, where the wine’s balance and savoury depth can shine.
