Bressia Lagrima Canela Chardonnay Semillon 2021

Lágrima Canela is a 70% Chardonnay and 30% Sémillon blend from Bressia, created by Walter Bressia as a white wine with the body and structure normally associated with red wines. Chardonnay provides the richness and breadth, while Sémillon adds texture and savoury depth. It is an unusually ambitious Mendoza white, built around concentration, texture and careful élevage rather than simple freshness.

The wine spends 10 months in new French oak, a defining part of its character and the source of its layered, creamy texture. Ripe peach, quince, tropical fruit and citrus are accompanied by vanilla, subtle honey and nutty notes from the oak. Full-bodied and voluptuous on the palate, it nevertheless retains enough acidity to stay fresh, with a long, persistent finish marked by butter and almond. A distinctive, age-worthy Argentine white that rewards serving alongside richer dishes.
