Borgo del Tiglio Chardonnay White Label 2020

Nicola Manferrari is widely respected across Italy for his talent in highlighting the textural intricacies of white grape varieties from Friuli. Interestingly, he entered the winemaking world later than most. Originally trained as a pharmacist, his growing passion for viticulture soon became a compelling diversion from his work at his mother’s pharmacy. After his father’s passing in 1981, Nicola inherited five hectares of land, three of which were planted with vineyards. Over the following three decades, driven by curiosity, patience, and skill, he transformed Borgo Del Tiglio into a standard-bearer for Friuli winemaking. His Friulano, Sauvignon Blanc, Malvasia, and Chardonnay consistently reach perfect ripeness, capturing the unique characteristics of the climate, soil, and vine age that are unmatched elsewhere in Friuli, and indeed, the world.

Rare combination of weight, texture, tension, and minerality are combined in this wine to achieve balance. On the nose it offers notes of toffee and cream with tropical fruits. On the palate it has a long mineral finish and bright acidity.
