Bojt Egri Csillag 2024
Böjt Egri Csillag 2024 is produced by Böjt Winery, a family-run estate based in Ostoros in Hungary’s Eger wine region. The winery was taken over by Gergo Böjt in 2014, when he began farming without herbicides and actively restoring soil life between the vine rows. After a decade of organic work, the 2024 vintage marks the estate’s first officially certified organic Egri Csillag. The vineyards lie on gently sloping hills with limestone, sandy and volcanic soils in a cool continental climate, ideal for preserving freshness and regional character.
The 2024 Egri Csillag is a dry white blend led by Welschriesling, supported by Leányka, Muscat and Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel to maintain purity, with gentle lees contact adding texture rather than oak influence. Light to medium-bodied but with notable depth, it shows lime and grapefruit, green apple and floral notes, a delicately creamy mouthfeel and lively acidity. Clean, vibrant and expressive, it pairs well with seafood, grilled fish, salads, light poultry dishes and fresh vegetable cuisine.
