Bodega Colomé, founded in 1831, is one of Argentina’s oldest wineries, situated in the high-altitude Calchaquí Valley of Salta at 2,300 metres above sea level. The estate is renowned for its commitment to sustainable viticulture and minimal intervention winemaking. The 2021 Auténtico Malbec is crafted from the estate’s oldest ungrafted vines, reflecting the winery’s dedication to preserving the authentic expression of the terroir. The wine is vegan-friendly, aligning with Colomé’s ethical and natural approach to winemaking.

The 2021 Auténtico Malbec is produced using traditional winemaking techniques, including pigeage (punching down) and fermentation in concrete tanks to maintain the purity and freshness of the fruit. The wine is aged for 10 months in tank and 10 months in bottle, without any oak influence to preserve its vibrant fruit character. The resulting wine offers intense aromas of cherries, blackberries, figs, cassis and cloves, complemented by elegant spice and mineral notes. The palate is crisp and robust with a high concentration of ripe, round tannins. This wine pairs excellently with grilled meats, hearty stews or mature cheeses.
