Produced by the Barton family in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation of Bordeaux, Fide et Fortitudine 2016 is a special commemorative release created to honour the family’s historic motto, “Fide et Fortitudine” – “By Faith and Courage.” Released in 2026, this limited bottling celebrates the enduring legacy of one of Bordeaux’s most respected wine families, whose roots in the Médoc stretch back to the early nineteenth century. Drawn from the family’s estate in Moulis, the wine reflects the appellation’s distinctive mix of gravel, clay and limestone soils, which produce wines combining structure, freshness and ageing potential. The outstanding 2016 vintage provided ideal conditions for crafting a wine worthy of this tribute, with exceptional balance, concentration and precision.

Made from the classic Bordeaux varieties cultivated on the estate, the wine was vinified and matured with the same attention to detail that has defined the Barton family’s reputation for generations. Now entering an attractive stage of development, the 2016 displays aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and dark cherry layered with cedar, graphite, tobacco leaf and subtle spice.
