Barczentewicz Pinot Blanc 2022
Barczentewicz is a family-run estate near Dobre in Poland’s Lublin region, cultivating vineyards on a limestone-marl hill with south-western exposure. The vineyard’s mineral-rich soils, combined with a microclimate moderated by the nearby Vistula River, create ideal conditions for expressive wines. The estate uses careful, low-intervention viticulture.
The 2022 Pinot Blanc is made from 100% Pinot Blanc grapes harvested from slopes at 130–180 metres above sea level. Fermentation occurred in stainless steel, followed by nine months on gross lees to enhance texture and complexity. Straw-coloured with aromas of green apple, pear, white flowers, lemon balm, and ripe lemon, it displays pronounced minerality reflecting the limestone soils. It offers crisp apple freshness, subtle mirabelle sweetness, and vibrant acidity. Unfiltered, it pairs beautifully with green grilled vegetables, seafood, grilled fish, light poultry, herb vinaigrettes, and fresh salads.
