Description

Aubert & Mathieu was founded in Carcassonne in 2018 by childhood friends Anthony Aubert and Jean-Charles Mathieu, who set out to make modern, characterful wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon without being constrained by traditional appellation rules. Boogie Woogie is part of their Sauvage range, which focuses on organic, expressive wines with a lighter, more contemporary style. The grapes come from clay-limestone soils and are farmed organically, with the wine bottled as Vin de France.

Boogie Woogie is a light, chilled red made from Grenache Noir and Grenache Gris, giving it the character of a “blouge” – a red and white grape blend designed to be served cool. The grapes undergo a two week whole bunch maceration, producing a juicy, bright style with aromas of fresh strawberry and raspberry, a supple palate and a clean, lively finish, it is particularly refreshing served lightly chilled. Try it with charcuterie, grilled chicken or pork, pizza, Mediterranean salads, lightly spiced dishes or soft cheeses. It is made for drinking young rather than cellaring.
