Alegre Valganon Rioja Tinto 2022

Alegre Valgañón is a small family winery in Rioja Alta, founded by husband and wife team Oscar Alegre and Eva Valgañón. The estate farms organically with minimal intervention. The vineyards are located in Sajazarra and Fonzaleche, where old vines grow on limestone and clay soils at high altitude producing fruit with purity, tension and distinctive minerality.

The 2022 Rioja Tinto is predominantly Tempranillo with a touch of Garnacha, hand-harvested from multiple high-altitude parcels. Fermentation occurs with native yeasts in oak vats before ageing for 12 months in a mix of French and American oak barrels. Bright and elegant it offers aromas of red cherry, plum, and spice with fine tannins. Enjoy with roast duck, Iberico ham or grilled vegetables.
