Produced in California’s Lodi appellation, Western Cellars Chardonnay reflects the region’s long-standing reputation for delivering ripe, expressive wines shaped by abundant sunshine and cooling influences from the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta. Although Lodi is often associated with old-vine Zinfandel, the region has become increasingly recognised for Chardonnay, where warm daytime temperatures encourage generous fruit development while evening breezes help preserve freshness and balance. The vineyards are planted on well-drained sandy loam soils, a hallmark of the region, allowing vines to produce fruit with both concentration and aromatic clarity. Western Cellars focuses on crafting approachable, fruit-driven wines that capture the easy-going character and generosity of California winemaking.
Made from 100% Chardonnay, the wine is vinified to emphasise freshness, texture and vibrant fruit expression. Aromas of ripe peach, golden apple and pineapple are complemented by notes of citrus blossom and a subtle touch of vanilla. The palate is smooth and rounded, offering flavours of orchard fruit and tropical fruit balanced by refreshing acidity and a clean finish. Generous without being heavy, it delivers the sunny, approachable style for which California Chardonnay is known, making it an ideal companion to seafood, roast chicken, creamy pasta dishes and a wide range of everyday cuisine.
