Domaine de la Solitude 'Vin de la Solitude' Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2025
Produced by Domaine de la Solitude in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Vin de la Solitude Blanc 2025 reflects the long history and traditional philosophy of one of the appellation’s oldest family estates. The domaine, whose roots date back to the seventeenth century, is managed by the Lançon family and farms a diverse collection of vineyard parcels across the region’s emblematic terroirs of rolled pebbles, limestone and sandy soils. Rather than pursuing a heavily oak-influenced style, the estate seeks to preserve the freshness and authenticity of the southern Rhône’s historic white varieties, combining careful vineyard management with a measured, low-intervention approach in the cellar. The 2025 vintage captures the generosity of the Mediterranean climate while retaining the balance and vitality that have become hallmarks of the estate’s wines.
The wine is made from a traditional blend of 60% Clairette, 20% Roussanne and 20% Grenache Blanc, each variety contributing a distinct element to the final cuvée. Clairette brings freshness, finesse and subtle herbal notes, Roussanne adds texture and aromatic complexity, while Grenache Blanc provides body and ripe orchard fruit. Vinified to preserve purity and balance, the wine opens with aromas of white peach, pear and citrus blossom, complemented by hints of fennel, almond and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is generous yet finely structured, with a silky texture, vibrant acidity and a mineral thread that carries through to a long, savoury finish. Elegant and expressive, it offers a classic interpretation of white Châteauneuf-du-Pape and has the concentration to develop additional complexity over the next several years.
