Description

Château du Glana is a family-owned Cru Bourgeois estate located in Saint-Julien on Bordeaux’s Left Bank. Acquired by the Meffre family in 1961, the estate has built a strong reputation for producing classic, terroir driven Médoc wines. Its vineyards are planted on the famous Garonne gravel terraces, which provide excellent drainage and ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The estate follows reasoned vineyard management, with careful plot by plot work throughout the growing season to preserve the quality and character of each vintage.

Château du Glana 2012 is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. The 2012 vintage benefited from a warm August and September, allowing the grapes to reach excellent maturity while retaining freshness and balance. After temperature controlled fermentation and maceration, the wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 40% new oak. It offers aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum alongside cedar, tobacco and subtle spice. Elegant and structured, with refined tannins and a long finish, it pairs beautifully with roast lamb, grilled steak, venison, duck and mature cheeses.
