Château Cap de Mourlin Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classe 2015
Produced by Château Cap de Mourlin in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux, the 2015 vintage reflects the heritage of one of the historic families of the Right Bank. The Capdemourlin family has been deeply connected to Saint-Émilion for centuries and today remains one of the appellation’s traditional wine families, also known for their ownership of Château Balestard La Tonnelle, a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé estate. Situated on the southern slopes of Saint-Émilion, Château Cap de Mourlin benefits from the region’s renowned clay-limestone terroirs, which provide excellent conditions for Merlot while preserving freshness and structure. The combination of favourable exposures, classic Bordeaux soils and a meticulous approach in the vineyard allows the estate to produce wines that balance richness, elegance and longevity.
The Château Cap de Mourlin Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2015 is a classic Merlot-led Right Bank Bordeaux blend, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2015 Bordeaux vintage was exceptional, marked by a warm and dry growing season that produced wines with ripe fruit, supple tannins and excellent ageing potential. Now developing beautifully in bottle, the wine displays aromas of black cherry, plum and blackberry layered with notes of violet, cedar, tobacco, spice and subtle earthy complexity. On the palate, it is generous yet refined, with polished tannins, balanced acidity and a long, savoury finish. A beautifully mature Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, it pairs wonderfully with roast lamb, grilled meats, game, mushroom dishes and mature cheeses.
