The Wilson Vineyard Chardonnay comes from a small 2 hectare parcel in the Wallcliffe sub region, planted on deep sandy soils on a gentle north facing slope. The maritime Margaret River climate, moderated by the nearby Indian Ocean, provides warm days and cool nights that help maintain freshness and natural acidity in the fruit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe Nocturne Wilson Vineyard Chardonnay 2024 is made from 100% Chardonnay, hand harvested and whole bunch pressed before fermenting naturally with indigenous yeasts in oak puncheons. The wine spends around 9 to 10 months ageing on its lees in a mix of new and seasoned French oak, with roughly 20% new oak contributing subtle texture and complexity. The resulting wine shows aromas of white blossom, citrus and white nectarine with mineral tension and bright acidity.
