It is an unusual Chardonnay site in Ambonnay, better known for Pinot Noir. Benoît Marguet farms the estate according to certified biodynamic principles, with horse cultivation and a strong focus on soil health and biodiversity. Marguet has been Demeter certified since 2012, while the domaine's work in the vineyard follows a highly natural, low intrvention approach based around plant preparations and close observation of each site.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe 2019 Le Parc is made from 100% Chardonnay, fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for an extended period on its lees before disgorgement. The wine is made in a low intervention style, allowing the character of the vineyard to remain at the forefront. Ripe citrus, orchard fruit and white flowers combine with chalk, wet stone, pastry and subtle saline notes, while the palate is broad and concentrated but carried by fine acidity and a long mineral finish. The richness of the 2019 vintage is balanced by the wine's freshness and tension, giving it both immediate appeal and considerable ageing potential.
