La Carraia Vermentino Porticina 2022

Located in the hills of Umbria and owned by the Gialletti family since 1988, this winery with five different estates focuses on maintaining the terroir and quality of every vine. Initially founded by Odoardo Gialletti and Riccardo Cotarella, Gialletti's two sons still work on the vineyard and Odoardo is frrequently found experimenting with Riccardo in the cellar. Over the years they have experimented with their crops, going from orvieto single plots to meticously cared for cabernet sauvignon, grechetto and vermentino varties. Each new estate the winery gained offered different soils combinations and changed the profile of the wine produced. “Identifying the territory in terms of tradition and quality” is the vineyards personal motto, inspiring creativity in the cellar and the vineyard every year.

A delightful expression of a classic vermentino, this light crisp wine is a prefected addition to any day. On the nose this vermentino offers aormas of crisp light fruits such as pear and apricot. On the palate it is well rounded with a higher acidiy and dry finish. Delicate fruits and florals in every sip. Paired well with rich pasta or light cheeses.
