Based in Montagna, the estate farms vineyards at different elevations across the Alto Adige landscape, with a particular focus on varieties that thrive in its cool, mountainous conditions. The Moscato Rosa vineyards are planted at around 250–300 metres on south and south-west-facing sites, where constant ventilation is especially important for this delicate variety, helping to prevent botrytis and preserve its intensely aromatic character. The soils are a distinctive mixture of porphyry, sand, clay and limestone. Franz Haas places great emphasis on careful vineyard management and preserving the natural character of its grapes. The 2021 growing season brought a mild winter and early spring, followed by a cooler, wetter April, then a warm June and July with cool nights, allowing the Moscato Rosa to ripen slowly and retain its aromatic intensity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eMade from 100% Moscato Rosa, a rare and naturally low-yielding red-skinned variety prized for its intense perfume and ability to produce richly flavoured sweet wines. The grapes were harvested on 11 September and macerated for less than 24 hours, extracting colour and aroma while avoiding excessive tannin. Fermentation was then interrupted by refrigeration once the desired balance of sweetness, acidity and flavour had been reached, followed by filtration and maturation in stainless-steel tanks until bottling. The wine has 137g\/L residual sugar, balanced by 6.18g\/L acidity and 11% alcohol. Bright ruby in colour, it is intensely aromatic, with rose petals, orange peel, cloves and cinnamon, followed by red berries and a gently spicy character. The palate is sweet but beautifully balanced by fresh acidity and delicate tannins, with an elegant, lingering finish. It is excellent with chocolate and cocoa-based desserts, fruit tarts and pastries, but is equally enjoyable as an aperitif or meditation wine.
