The family winery has just seven hectares of vines, planted between 2003 and 2004, on Vertisol soils containing fine sand and underlain by calcareous Cretaceous rock. High levels of sunlight and warmer-than-average temperatures help Tannat reach full phenolic maturity, giving the variety a naturally deep colour while producing softer, rounder tannins. The winery farms with a sustainable approach that includes rainwater irrigation, natural compost, cover crops and minimal machinery, with its grapes certified under Uruguay’s sustainability programme since 2023. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eMade from 100% Tannat, the grapes are hand harvested and carefully selected before fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature. A long 25–30 day post-fermentation maceration extracts colour, flavour and structure, after which the wine is matured for 12 months in a combination of first- and second-use French and American oak. Ripe blackberry, black cherry and plum are joined by vanilla, dark chocolate, leather and subtle spice, with the oak adding savoury complexity rather than overwhelming the fruit. The palate is full and well structured, with firm yet velvety tannins, fresh acidity and a persistent finish.
