Dorli Muhr Ried Spitzerberg Kranzen 1OTW 2021

Weingut Dorli Muhr is a family estate in Austria’s Carnuntum, fully organic since 2018. Located on the steep, south-facing slopes of Spitzerberg—including the prized Kranzen parcel—the vineyard features shallow sandy limestone soils, old vines (1950 & 1984 plantings) and biodiverse, low-intervention viticulture.

The blaufränkisch grapes are hand-harvested and wild-yeast fermented in open vats with foot treading, no pumping. Maturation occurs in large old wooden vats for 20 months before a single racking and bottling unfiltered. Expect vibrant sour cherry, red berry and violet aromas, with silk-fine tannins, lively acidity and a mineral, pepper-tinged finish.
