Description

Produced by Bodegas La Horra, the Ribera del Duero project of the team behind Bodegas Roda, Corimbo is a modern expression of one of Spain’s great wine regions, built on the same philosophy of meticulous vineyard selection and terroir-driven winemaking. Established in the village of La Horra in the province of Burgos, the estate focuses exclusively on old bush-trained Tinta del País, the local name for Tempranillo. The vineyards are planted at significant altitude on a patchwork of limestone, clay and gravelly soils, where the region’s extreme continental climate, with hot days and cool nights, promotes both concentration and freshness. Sustainable viticulture, low yields and careful parcel management underpin the winery’s approach, with the aim of producing wines that capture the identity of Ribera del Duero rather than simply power and extraction.

Made from 100% Tinta del País, Corimbo is fermented with precision and aged in French and American oak barrels to build complexity while preserving the purity of the fruit. The wine is designed to showcase the energy and character of younger old-vine vineyards, offering a fresher and more accessible style than the estate’s top cuvées. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry and plum are complemented by notes of liquorice, violet, cocoa and subtle spice, with a gentle mineral undertone. The palate is generous yet balanced, combining ripe dark fruit with polished tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, savoury finish. More refined than overtly powerful, Corimbo expresses the elegance and freshness that have become hallmarks of the Roda group’s winemaking, while retaining the depth and structure expected from quality Ribera del Duero.
