At around 700 metres, the vineyards are surrounded by lakes and shaped by the relief of the landscape, creating cool summers and pronounced day to night temperature differences. Karamolegos was particularly drawn to Xinomavro, Amyndeo’s emblematic variety, for its ability to combine perfume, acidity and firm structure with considerable ageing potential. The result is a wine that reflects the distinctive conditions of one of Greece’s highest and coolest wine growing areas.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eMade from 100% Xinomavro, the 2024 spends 12 months in barrel followed by a further 12 months on its fine lees, allowing the tannins to soften and the wine to gain depth while keeping the oak integrated. Red cherry, raspberry and pomegranate are joined by violet, dried herbs, pepper and subtle savoury spice. The palate is fresh and finely structured, with silky tannins, lively acidity and a gently smoky, mineral finish.
