Altos de Torona Albarino 2024
Produced by Altos de Torona in the Rías Baixas region of Galicia, northwestern Spain, Altos de Torona Albariño comes from one of the largest contiguous vineyard estates in the area, located in the O Rosal subzone close to the Atlantic coast. The estate benefits from a cool maritime climate heavily influenced by Atlantic breezes and high rainfall, which help preserve acidity and aromatic freshness in the grapes. The vineyards are planted on granitic and sandy soils that provide excellent drainage and contribute to the wine’s distinctive saline, mineral character. Sustainable vineyard practices and careful canopy management are used to ensure healthy fruit expression and balanced ripening.
Made from 100% Albariño, the grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve purity, freshness and varietal intensity. The wine shows vibrant aromas of citrus, lime zest and green apple alongside notes of white peach, orange blossom and a subtle saline, coastal minerality. The palate is crisp, lively and well-defined, with bright acidity, juicy stone fruit and a refreshing, slightly salty finish characteristic of Atlantic-influenced Albariño. Clean and expressive, it is a classic example of Rías Baixas wine, pairing beautifully with seafood, shellfish, sushi, grilled fish and light Mediterranean dishes.
