Carpano Antica Formula 1L

Antica Formula Vermouth is crafted by Carpano, the legendary Turin-based producer founded in 1786 by Antonio Benedetto Carpano, credited with creating modern vermouth. The base wines are sourced from selected Italian vineyards across Romagna, Puglia and Sicily, grown on fertile clay and limestone soils with Mediterranean climate influences. The vineyards are farmed using conventional methods. The vermouth is generally considered vegan-friendly as no animal-derived fining agents are used.

Antica Formula is made by blending the base white wines with a secret selection of botanicals, including wormwood, vanilla, saffron and other herbs and spices. The blend is macerated and then aged in oak casks for over a year to develop richness and complexity. It displays aromas of dried fruit, vanilla and spice, with a palate of bitter orange, cocoa and subtle herbal notes. Best served chilled as an aperitif or in classic cocktails like a Manhattan or Negroni, it also pairs well with olives, charcuterie and mature cheeses.
