Cantina Povero Pense Barbera 2020

Cantine Povero, established in 1954 in Cisterna d’Asti, Piedmont, is a family-run winery renowned for its traditional winemaking methods and commitment to quality. The estate spans 60 hectares in the heart of the Langhe and Monferrato regions, known for their rolling hills and limestone-rich soils. The vineyards are farmed sustainably, adhering to organic principles, though not officially certified. The 2020 Pensé Barbera is a unique expression of Barbera, crafted using the appassimento method, where 45% of the grapes are dried to concentrate flavours, resulting in a rich, full-bodied wine.

The Pensé Barbera 2020 is aged for four years in oak barrels, imparting depth and complexity to the wine. With an alcohol content of 16%, it offers a bouquet of red fruit jam, cherries in alcohol, green tea, spices, and licorice. The palate is warm, soft, and velvety, showcasing the meticulous care taken in its production.
