Description
Situated in southeast Tasmania, Tolpuddle vineyard was first planted in 1988. Produced from hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed grapes, the wine is fermented and aged in French oak and sees very little malolactic fermentation, so the freshness of the natural acidity is retained.
Tolpuddle Chardonnay is a wine of finesse and poise, with aromas of apple, pear, mineral and hazelnut along with delicate flavours of lime, green apple peel and savoury biscuit notes. Crisp and firmly structured with a good potential to age, this serious wine would hold its own against top white Burgundy at a greater price.
