Description
A gin from Ballyvolane House named after Bertha, a cow from Kerry said to have been the oldest in the world when she died aged 48 in 1993. The gin uses whey alcohol from Irish dairies as its base with locally foraged botanicals. Botanicals include juniper, coriander, bitter orange, grapefruit, sweet orange, lemon, lime, liquorice, orris, angelica, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, cumin, almond, elderflower, and sweet woodruff. The flavours are more citrus dominated than the nose suggests with the spice elements coming through strongly on the finish.
